11 Guest Characters I Want in Mortal Kombat 11

“Mortal Kombat 11” is just a few days away from release and if you’re anything like me, April 22 cannot come soon enough. I am extremely excited for Netherrealm Studios’ latest roster, newcomers like Kollector and Geras and classics like Scorpion and Sub-Zero alike; however, it is impossible not to speculate and get excited for the future too. The game is guaranteed to have several new kombatants so these are 11 guests that I want to see appear in the DLC.

11. Pinhead (Hellraiser)
Since Freddy Krueger was a DLC character in “Mortal Kombat (2011),” Netherrealm proved their love for horror movie icons. The inclusion of more than a few in “Mortal Kombat X” makes it glaringly obvious we will get more this time around. One of the first to come to mind for sheer design alone is the “Hellraiser” villain, Pinhead. Pinhead looks terrifying and he is very evil and demonic in nature, using killing as a common part of his routines. I think that this horror villain would fit absolutely perfectly in the fighting game franchise.

10. Chucky (Child’s Play)
Another iconic villain in the horror film genre, even more than the previous, Chucky definitely screams “guest character” for “Mortal Kombat 11.” This horrifying doll has haunted children and adults alike since the original “Child’s Play” in the 80’s. I think that this short-stature character would prove to be a unique fighter in “Mortal Kombat 11.” With the franchise's love for the violent and scary, it is hard not to imagine this sadistic doll in Chucky not being a great addition to the DLC roster of “Mortal Kombat 11.”

9. Michael Myers (Halloween)

Let the trend of the horror villains continue with this classic character. Michael Myers is one of the most recognizable characters in the genre, even in film as a whole. John Carpenter’s “Halloween” began a franchise full of great scares and created one of the most terrifying faces of the industry, a face built for “Mortal Kombat” as of late. Michael Myers rocks a frightening mask, iconic to all and his means of killing are anything but subtle. In all actuality, it is the idea of his legacy alone that makes it impossible not to imagine him here.

8. Agent 47 (Hitman)
Image result for agent 47One of the mainstays of the “Mortal Kombat” franchises is quite literally killing. It is obviously the main aspect of the gameplay and its appeal. One of gaming’s most prolific killers, one who does it for a living and in style is Agent 47. As someone who loves IO Interactive’s latest works in the “Hitman” franchise, particularly for the vast array of means of killing, I have to imagine 47 would be great in “Mortal Kombat.” With his intelligent and clever maneuvers to assassinate and his handy garrote and silverballers by his side, Agent 47 would be perfect in this violent fighter.

7. Pennywise (It)
After Stephen King’s “It” got its big screen adaptation in 2017, Pennywise became an absolute household name in popular culture. I personally said to myself, “Pennywise will be a guest character in Mortal Kombat 11” right when I heard their confirmation of future DLC. There’s no way he isn’t in the game given his popularity, in addition the sequel coming this fall. Pennywise is a frightening face, despite not appearing as much more than a generic clown at first glance. The character was eerie and got scarier as the film went on until “It: Chapter One” scared us all thanks entirely to this clown. Who better to represent the love for horror films in “Mortal Kombat 11” than him?

6. Venom (Marvel Comics)
Carnage or Cletus Cassidy would be a great fit for any game revolving around violence but the counterpart in Eddie Brock, better known as Venom, would be the definitive Marvel character for this. When I think of the wide array of characters I love across Marvel’s history, I aim right away for Venom in imagining the gory and intense ways he’d obliterate his opponents in “Mortal Kombat 11.” Venom is awesome in the “Marvel vs. Capcom” series and even more sick in last year’s admittedly average film, “Venom” but this M-rated and intentionally brutal fighter in “Mortal Kombat 11” really deserves to include Venom so he could use his many disgusting means of murder to fill advantage.

5. Rorschach (DC Comics)
All it’ll take is a viewing of Zack Snyder’s “Watchmen” to understand how cool Rorschach is. As a result, I think it should be clear why he deserves a place on “Mortal Kombat 11’s” roster in my opinion. I think Rorschach is super frightening and viscous and also pretty unique. This DC character comes from a dark storyline and would fit really well in this dark roster and world of Netherrealms fighter. If Rorschach saying “I’m not locked in here with you; you’re locked in here with me” in the film doesn’t prove his place on my list, I don’t know what will.

4. Dante (Devil May Cry)
One of gaming’s most action-packed and exhilarating franchises has to be Capcom’s “Devil May Cry.” With last month seeing the return of the series in the critically acclaimed “Devil May Cry 5,” Dante is back in the spotlight of the industry. While the other playable characters in Nero and V are admittedly super cool and exciting, Dante holds the legacy for a placement in another title altogether. I’ve got to imagine Dante’s amazing abilities, demon slaying skills and track record and use of violent and epic weapons would all lend themselves perfectly to “Mortal Kombat 11.” When I think of guests that belong in Netherrealms series right now, Dante instantly comes to mind.
3. Spawn (Image Comics)
Todd McFarlane’s mysterious, vicious and much-missed creation of Spawn has been requested in Netherrealms fighting games from the beginning. Especially in 2017’s “Injustice 2” and previously “Mortal Kombat X,” did gamers want to be able to play as this caped Hellspawn. Spawn is basically screaming to get into the next “Mortal Kombat” title and would be more than welcomed. I personally would love to see this awesome comic book character get his place in the roster he deserves a place in afterall.

2. Raiden (Metal Gear)
After recently replaying Platinum Games’ “Metal Gear” spinoff, “Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance,” I quickly thought about how much I want Raiden to return. Ironically the name can be seen of course in one of the main characters across “Mortal Kombat’s” history, the thunder God and the cyborg ninja are quite different. I want to play as the latter thanks entirely to how he acts in “Metal Gear Rising.” The absolutely brutal nature of him and his life of killing like its nothing make him a wonderful fit for a violent fighting game.

1. Doomguy (Doom)
When you think of the most violent video games of all time, the likes of “Doom” make the same conversation as this list’s feature in “Mortal Kombat.” While I wouldn’t mind seeing the awesome marine from one of the most frantic, exciting and well-made shooters in “Doom (2016)” make a debut in “Super Smash Bros Ultimate,” it here where he best fits. The violent nature of Doomguy or Doom Slayer, would lend super well to “Mortal Kombat.” There are plenty of awesome finishing moves and big guns to use so I can’t help but think there is not a single character in all of popular culture I’d want to see in “Mortal Kombat 11” more than Doomguy.

And there you have it. From comic book characters to hack n’ slash heroes, those are 11 of the characters that I would like to see in “Mortal Kombat 11.” These characters from a wide array of franchises across all pop culture mediums have aspects of their designs, personalities, stories and more that make them fit so well in my mind for the game. “Mortal Kombat 11” already has Shang Tsung confirmed as a DLC character and the rest will likely be revealed very soon, given the game’s release date just days away at the time of writing. So be sure to leave me your thoughts in the comments below. Which characters from movies, TV shows, comics, video games or other mediums do you think would fit best in “Mortal Kombat 11?
