E3 2019 may have just begun for those attending the event; however, for viewers like myself sitting at home, the conferences define E3. And with that, this year’s press conferences, though less in quantity than usual, have come to an end. I watched Microsoft, Bethesda, Ubisoft, Square Enix and Nintendo and, despite them overall lacking in comparison to some of the past, they all left me with some titles to get very excited for. Of course, many were already technically revealed in the past. For this list, I’d like to look only at the new games, titles that got proper reveals at E3 2019 and not prior, titles that I am the most excited for. Be sure to let me know in the comments below what new game reveals of E3 you are looking forward to and loved seeing revealed the most.

10. Animal Crossing: New Horizons

The first game on the list is one that we technically knew of; nevertheless, it is basically a brand new reveal. Last year, Nintendo assured its fans of the relaxing town simulation of “Animal Crossing.” They simply teased it though. This E3, they gave us a proper reveal with an actual title and release date. It looks visually similar to the past entries but still great. It looks like it will be an expansive sequel that is widely open to playing with others. Most importantly it is a Switch “Animal Crossing” and I am really looking forward to sitting back and playing “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” on a regular basis.

9. 12 Minutes

Possibly the most interesting game we saw at Microsoft’s press conference, at least to me, is “12 Minutes.” This game is an interactive thriller and it looks really good. The trailer showed us a man and woman having some cryptic conversations, resulting in some dark things. And then it seemed to loo to something else. The trailer’s content seemed to show us a “Groundhog Day” type of situation with murders on the tail end of every occasion. I am very curious and compelled by this title and look forward to trying out “12 Minutes.”

8. Blair Witch

While horror games aren’t per se my thing, I can’t help but be really interested in “Blair Witch.” This Xbox briefing reveal looked super chilling and got my attention from the start of the trailer. Seeing as it comes from the developers behind “Layers of Fear” and is based on the found-footage phenomenon, “The Blair Witch Project,” I have faith in it. Like I said, the game looms terrifying and I am honestly excited to get scared crazy in this new game.

7. Elden Ring

I shouldn’t be all that excited or even concerned with “Elden Ring.” I never watched “Game of Thrones” and I have barely dabbled in From Softwares’ acclaimed games. Yet even with those precedents, the collaboration of George R.R. Martin and Hidetaka Miyazaka has me super interested in what is to come. This game, despite technically being rumored prior to the show, was easily one of the biggest reveals of this E3. A second year for Microsoft to debut a From Software game left us with one of the coolest looking CG trailers this year and I know we all want to see what this undeniably epic game is all about.

6. Outriders

One of the coolest games that was in Square Enix’s press conference was surely “Outriders.” It is being developed by People Can Fly, who certainly know a thing about making shooters, given their work on “Gears of War: Judgement” and “Bulletstorm.”The game’s trailer looked very promising, despite being just cinematic footage. It looks like a dark, gritty sci-fi world, one that should be a great time to fight through alongside friends. I have also read of the possible connections to Marvel that “Outriders” may have, which just further expands my hype for this co-op shooter.

5. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sequel

I’d say that the midpoint on my list is the furthest away from release. In fact, I don’t really expect it for a couple of years. Regardless, “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” is one of the finest games to ever hit the industry. And Nintendo giving us that one final game to end their E3 2019 Direct, leaving us with a tease of a sequel to that amazing game is huge. I thought the teaser trailer was very cool looking and had me and certainly everyone else getting very hyped. This is definitely not coming too soon like I said (so I think) but it also most definitely the biggest Nintendo surprise of E3.

4. Ghostwire: Tokyo

There are more than a couple of reasons that I am so excited for “GhostWire: Tokyo.” For starters, it is a new I.P. and one that was revealed at Bethesda’s press conference, a combination I feared would not happen. So, seeing a new reveal like this alone is cool but it is also in development from the creators of “The Evil Within.” Even more promising right? Lastly, most importantly, it looks awesome. With a sick science fiction and thriller tone, confirmation of action and adventure at the forefront and the fact that it will have some cool scares, “GhostWire Tokyo” might be awesome.

3. Deathloop

Like my number four spot, “Deathloop” was also revealed at Bethesda’s E3 conference. Even more so that “GhostWire: Tokyo,” this game has my attention tenfold. I am actually super excited for this game. It is honestly, basing on the reveal trailer that is, a mix of things I love. I get a movie vibe with this one too. “Deathloop” looks like it will be a story about two people trying to accomplish something that requires killing one another. However, they are in a time loop. I can only imagine that the story and gameplay are going to be super fun and interesting. The trailer brilliantly showed the two sides of the story. I love the “Groundhog Day” type of narrative and I love that this is going to be an action game that is approachable in any way you see fit. It was only just revealed but “Deathloop” is definitely one of my most anticipated games on the horizon.

2. Marvel’s Avengers

In a similar vein to “Animal Crossing: New Horizons,” Crystal Dynamics' ambitious “Avengers” game had been announced prior to this show. Technically however, we had never gotten the proper reveal until Square Enix’s E3 2019 press conference. The game, “Marvel’s Avengers” got an awe-inspiring cinematic reveal. “Marvel’s Avengers” was always going to be one of my most hyped games given the caliber of the I.P. but knowing it is what it was shown to be so far, I am officially all in. I love the voice cast, some of which are the best in the game. I love the exciting behind-the-back camera footage that was very likely gameplay. I love the tone of what the story seems to be. I love the promise of free content in the future. I just love the fact that developers responsible for great games are putting all their effort forward to make a game based on one of my favorite franchises in entertainment.

1. Watch Dogs: Legion

Besides already revealed titles like “Cyberpunk 2077” and “Final Fantasy VII” and somehow even more than “Marvel’s Avengers,” “Watch Dogs: Legion” is my most anticipated new game revealed at E3 2019. I have always been a proponent of the franchise. In fact, while several were hating on the first “Watch Dogs” and even more were ignoring its sequel, I was genuinely enjoying them. The latter especially is one of my favorite current generation titles. But what Ubisoft is impressively doing is getting everyone else's' attention. “Watch Dogs: Legion” looks incredibly ambitious and honestly might be one of the coolest games in today’s conversation. The game lets you literally turn any NPC into an actual playable character, capable of being a part of your own personal resistance. It seems impossible but Ubisoft is apparently doing it and it should be amazing. I think it is going to make a huge splash, in the ways we will all have personalized experiences. The story and world of London look awesome and honestly, I am so excited for this sequel.
