Happy birthday Nintendo Switch! The home console-handheld hybrid turns three today and with that, I knew I needed to talk about the Switch in some capacity.
Originally, a list of my favorite Switch titles was on my mind, but then I quickly realized how mine wouldn’t be very special compared to all of the other lists. I too love my Super Mario Odyssey and Super Smash Bros Ultimate as much as the next guy.
Then I realized I have been meaning to write something about Nintendo ports I want. Sure, plenty of third party games could make up their own list, and perhaps I will do that soon. This list however will strictly stick to games from Nintendo platforms.
In honor of the third birthday of the Nintendo Switch, a console that gets games on a daily basis from all consoles across all years, I am going to shame it for not having these awesome games.
Just kidding of course; I adore the Switch and greatly respect Nintendo’s efforts over the last few years. This is just a fun dream list of a few Nintendo games or games from their consoles that I would absolutely love to revisit on my Switch in the coming years.
Metroid Prime Trilogy
With Metroid Prime 4 coming to the Switch eventually, it is only natural that the original three games come to the platform as well.
I know many people have been begging for the trilogy to be released for the Switch and I’m no exception.
I have personally never experienced the shooters and always wanted to. Now that they are very much so locked to older consoles, I have no easy way to play them.
Hopefully Nintendo and Retro Studios will do us all a favor and bring the trilogy to the Switch.
And to make it even better, I’d like to ask for some HD up-ressing as well but beggars can’t be choosers, so a simple Wii port would suffice just as nicely.
No More Heroes 1 and 2
Suda 51’s No More Heroes games are titles that I have never played but always had an interest in.
Like many older games, they are trapped on the Wii and I want to play them now, particularly with the third game in development.
I have always found these games to be very fascinating on the surface and a chance to try them out, especially as an action game fan, would be very nice.
I feel that these games could reasonably make their way over to the Switch and would gain a lot of positive traction in result.
Super Mario 3D World
With the multitude of Wii U turned Switch games, it is strange to think that we still haven’t heard any confirmation of Super Mario 3D World getting that treatment. This is one of the games from the console I wanted to play the most, being a huge Super Mario fan and a big proponent of Super Mario 3D Land.
This game is probably getting a Switch port eventually, I have little doubt. But at the time of writing, it still is baffling that we haven’t been given that confirmation.
I hope that Nintendo gives us a chance to experience the fun of Super Mario 3D World on the Switch very soon, as I have been wanting to play it since the initial launch.

Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2
Recently, I have been feeling nostalgic for the Wii. I did my lists of my favorite games of the decade but the one that really stood out in my mind was Super Mario Galaxy 2. And with that, I remembered how much I loved the game and its predecessor. Super Mario Galaxy and Galaxy 2 are easily my favorite Wii games, even above the likes of Mario Kart Wii, Super Smash Bros Brawl and others.
I personally have been begging for this since the Switch came out. As the console got more and more games from many consoles over many past years, I have been strongly desiring a Switch version of the Galaxy games. I think I want to revisit these two amazing titles on the current generation of Nintendo more than any other iconic game.
The only thing I could ask for from Nintendo more than a chance to play Super Mario Galaxy an Galaxy 2 on the Switch is Super Mario Galaxy 3.

I have little memory of actually playing Super Mario Sunshine. This Gamecube game is a little divisive, as many look back at it as a series great yet others think of it as a bit of the opposite.
I want to give the title a full chance from start to finish. I think that Nintendo should bring Super Mario Sunshine to their current platform eventually. This would be a nice port or remaster to give new players the opportunity to establish their own opinions and older players to revisit.
I feel like it would be a very easy sell for Switch owners so Nintendo should make it happen.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is definitely one of the best 3DS games in my personal time with the handheld. I really enjoyed the game for many reasons but nowadays, I don’t have much motivation at all to pull out the 3DS with the Switch at my hand.
I think that A Link Between Worlds would look and play well on the hybrid platform and it would be a nice complement to last year’s remake of Link’s Awakening.
While I admittedly feel like 3DS ports aren’t super likely, I do feel that Link Between Worlds would be one of the most fitting and best.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
The Wii U got HD remasters of both Wind Waker and Twilight Princess yet Skyward Sword never got that treatment. Of course, bringing those Wii U games over to the Switch would be amazing but I think there’s something particularly special about the idea of Skyward Sword being given this kind of love.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is a pretty divisive entry for the series but I personally remember enjoying the adventure a lot. I feel like it honestly deserves a second chance. Bringing Skyward Sword to the Switch would be a very fresh opportunity for gamers to try it out again with new life or for the first time.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD
Seeing as I haven’t played Twilight Princess in many years and never gotten around to actual completion, I would love to revisit it again today.
Of course, the game got a nice HD remaster on the Wii U but I never even had that console, like so many others I suppose.
That means a Switch version would be awesome. I would be content with it being a port of the Wii U game even.
I liked Twilight Princess a lot and really want to re-experience it.

The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD
Wind Waker is one of my favorites of the Zelda series. And when it got an HD version on the Wii U, I was tempted to buy the console as much as I was with Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart 8 at the time.
Suffice to say, I never got a Wii U, so the last time I played Wind Waker seems like forever ago. I have fond memories of playing it on my old Gamecube and I know it is a great game. I really hope to see it make its way over to the Switch eventually.
I would kill to play this delightful adventure on the Switch, even more so than any other Zelda game on this list.
Thanks for reading my list of Nintendo games that I think should come to the Switch. Those are a handful of titles I believe deserve a new home on the Switch. So, hopefully Nintendo will do them justice. Be sure to share with me your thoughts. What Nintendo games do you want ports or remasters of on the Switch? And to celebrate the birthday/anniversary of the console, what are you playing?
